What it is
This skill helps you identify everyone who affects or is affected by your project, then organize them by how much power and interest they have. You get a clear grid showing who needs close management, who just needs updates, and who to monitor. The output is a detailed communication plan showing exactly when and how to engage each person or group.
What it does
- Identifies all relevant stakeholders — executives, team leads, partners, and end users
- Classifies each stakeholder by their power to influence decisions and their level of interest
- Places stakeholders on a Power × Interest grid with tailored engagement strategies per quadrant
- Generates a communication plan table with frequency, channels, and key messages for each stakeholder
- Flags potential conflicts between stakeholders and suggests alignment strategies
Use it when
- You're launching a new product or feature and need to align multiple teams
- You're preparing a roadmap presentation and want to know who to involve when
- You're managing a cross-functional project with lots of dependencies
- You need to organize stakeholder engagement for a major initiative
