Obsidian Wiki Ingest

Turn articles, notes, and files into linked, source-cited pages in your Obsidian vault.

What it is

This skill takes material you hand it, like pasted text, files dropped in your vault's inbox, or links you approve, and files it into your Obsidian knowledge base. It pulls out the key claims, people, and ideas, connects them to pages you already have, and keeps a record of where every claim came from. You review a preview of every change before anything is written.

What it does

  • Reads pasted text, files in your vault inbox, or web links you approve
  • Extracts key claims, people, concepts, contradictions, and open questions
  • Creates or updates linked notes only when the source adds something new
  • Tracks the source behind every claim so you can trust and check it later
  • Shows a full preview of planned changes before writing to your vault

Use it when

  • You're building a personal or team knowledge base in Obsidian
  • You have a pile of articles or research to file and connect
  • You want notes that cite their sources instead of loose summaries
  • You need to process a batch of documents without losing track of what came from where

Add this skill to your AI

Copy the source URL and ask your AI to add it. Most coding agents — Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Windsurf — will fetch and install it for you.
