Definition
A product roadmap is the strategic, time-bound plan for what your team will build and why. Modern roadmaps are outcome-oriented (organized around problems to solve, not features to ship), themed (a few big bets per quarter), and updated as discovery happens. They serve different audiences: investors want to see the strategy; engineers want to know what's next; sales wants commitments to share with prospects. The trick is communicating different levels of certainty for different time horizons — high-confidence near-term, exploratory long-term. AI agents can help you structure a roadmap, translate it for different audiences, and update it from new discovery.
